Child protection standards
Last updated: 3 November 2026
The wellbeing and safety of children are the overriding principle of everything Edu Atelier does. Below are the standards we follow during workshops and in cooperation with institutions.
Purpose
These child protection standards define how the entire Edu Atelier team acts so that children taking part in our classes are protected from all forms of abuse, neglect and discrimination.
Scope
The standards apply to everyone on our team — workshop leaders, psychologists, educators, support staff and contractors — during classes at the institution and in any contact with children and their guardians.
Core principles
Our work follows these principles:
- zero tolerance for physical, psychological and sexual violence,
- respect for every child’s dignity, boundaries and agency,
- no corporal punishment, shaming or ridiculing,
- attention to signs of harm and a duty to respond,
- protection of children’s image — photos and recordings only with guardians’ consent.
Team
Before starting cooperation, every team member presents a document confirming no criminal record for offences against sexual freedom and decency or against family and guardianship.
The team completes training in child protection and recognising signs of harm.
Response procedure
If abuse is suspected, we take the following steps:
- secure the child’s safety and offer support,
- notify the person responsible at the institution,
- record a written note describing the event,
- refer the matter to the competent authorities in line with the law,
- maintain confidentiality — information is shared only with authorised people.
